Do You Know How Much It Costs to Hire An
Attorney?
There are three main ways that attorney’s charge
for their services.
1.
By
the hour – This can range from $150 an hour to as high as
$1,000.00 per hour. According to a law.com
article on hourly billing rates, an associate (not a
partner but an associate) at Dorsey Whitney Law billed out
at $835/hr.
2.
By
the project – The attorney will quote you an exact price or
range of what her services will cost
you.
3.
Contingency – This mode of billing is most common in the
personal injury area of the law. The standard
rate for the attorney is to be paid 1/3 of any damages
collected. (This does not include the costs that
the attorney incurs.
Many
people are being priced out of getting legal
help.
